Why not just leave all this "preparedness" stuff to “the authorities”?
Simply because history demonstrates that a well armed and regulated (trained) citizenry provides better "homeland security” than any paid “professional” ever could hope to do while safeguarding the freedom of all.
Examples abound of patriotic citizens deterring crime, thwarting invaders, rooting out and dealing with those who terrorize the innocent, as well as throwing off the yoke of tyranny (as in our own War for Independence from Great Britain). These feats all had a common thread: They required the average man or woman to arm, equip, and train themselves to repel the wolves that always seem to be ready to feast on the liberty of others. Be part of the solution!

The Michigan Patriot Alliance came together as a group in mid-2007 to provide a more 'robust' ROI on time spent training to prepare oneself and one's family to not only survive, but thrive in adverse situations.
As the MPA will gather from time to time for the edification and enjoyment of its members, which is partly derived from the sharing of common beliefs, the common beliefs of applicants must be considered.
The commonly shared beliefs prevailing among the members are those based upon the Judeo-Christian ethic. Commonly shared beliefs that do not fall under that ethic include but are not limited to those requiring or fomenting forced conversion or submission to ritual, statement, writing or practice; conversion by conquest, or any belief or social ethic that propagates harm toward the Constitution of these united states or the Michigan state Constitution or any person, place or entity under their jurisdictions. Therefore, any group or individual seeking membership that, through their own writings, documents, or practices that demonstrate repugnance to the Constitution of these United States or Michigan state, or any person, place or entity under their jurisdictions will be denied.
The MPA reserves the right to immediately reject, expel, remove, deny, or otherwise in any fashion separate from the association any group or person who, by their writings, documents, practices or stated objectives, may fall outside the parameters of the intended scope of this article, or who’s membership or participation may not be in the best interest of the association, groups, or persons involved. The outcome of any such action will be decided by the MPA Leadership Council and will be final and binding.
Disclaimer: The MPA is not an anti-government, anti-law & order, "tin foil hat" based group. We are regular, everyday Michigan citizens who love their country, their State, and their community. In fact, we love it so much, we gather to learn things we can do to help in a crisis! Any person who legally may not possess, transport, or otherwise handle or use firearms or other tools one normally sees in the woods MAY NOT ATTEND AND IS NOT WELCOME at any MPA function, no matter what that function happens to be. If anyone is in doubt of their legal status on possession and/or use of firearms, please contact your local police for clarification.
