In these uncertain times in our nations history never has the security of the homeland been at a greater risk. Not even during the cold war was there an intimate threat lurking in the shadows. With the National Guard deployed around the world fighting terrorism, who is left to defend our families homes and our great state of Michigan? Ordinary men and women need to stand up as our founding fathers did and pledge our lives and sacred honor.

I have been involved since 1999. With all the talk and the uncertainty of the new millennium on the horizon I wanted to be prepared for what ever lay ahead. My family’s well-being and safety was the first priority. I was always told if you want peace prepare for war. The good people here in Bay County set me up with some basic survival manuals and a lot of education one would not get from the nightly news.

After all was said and done I stayed on coarse. Continuing today to maintain my level II status. Answering questions on the Bay County web site, working with new recruits and assisting in training at Camp Stasa. Along with being a positive figure in the community. When I started this I never thought this would turn into a second job. The rewards are sometimes overwhelming. I’m in it for the long haul. I pray that I never will have to take up a firearm in self-defense. I will defend this country against all enemies foreign and domestic
