“…extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice! ….moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue…."
Barry Goldwater - 1963
As time goes on, we get notes of inquiry on group membership or participation in our training from folks whose ideology is not compatible with what we, in the MPA, generally believe and hold dear. We courteously tell those folks, and will continue to do so, that we don’t subscribe to what they allude to, we don’t appreciate their ‘kind’, and they need to go somewhere else. Most of them never write back, which is more than fine with me!
Sometimes, though, we’ll get a note or a question that tries to press us from a ‘legalistic’ perspective that says, “well, you don’t say that ________________ (fill in with whatever unconstitutional ideology or group you wish) is specifically not welcome.”
That is absolutely correct! We don’t have to, because right on the website we have this little paragraph that covers all the names, ideologies, and whatever else we don’t want in our association. In case you haven’t seen it, here it is:
“The MPA reserves the right to immediately reject, expel, remove, deny, or otherwise in any fashion separate from the association any group or person who, by their writings, documents, practices or stated objectives, may fall outside the parameters of the intended scope of this article, or who’s membership or participation may not be in the best interest of the association, groups, or persons involved. The outcome of any such action will be decided by the MPA Leadership Council and will be final and binding.”
So, that being said, we can move on to the ‘why’s’ and ‘wherefores’ of the groups and ideologies we don’t care to have around us.
Everything we do and believe is based upon our values. No matter who we are. The MPA is comprised of people and groups who value the founding principles of our country: Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. Every single group or ideology we do not tolerate is in direct conflict with those principles. Without exception.
Nazism – Subscribers to this ideology believe in totalitarianism, racial supremacy, and “cleansing” (wholesale murder of “undesirables”). Do I need to explain further why they’re not welcome? Groups like the Christian Identity Movement, Aryan Nation, American Nazi Party, Neo-Nazis (who usually don’t call themselves ‘neo-Nazi’), and so forth all fall under this category.
Marxism – Here we have the followers of Karl Marx – the architect of everything anti-liberty in the world today. Most Marxists aren’t pure anymore; they have a good amount of Leninist and Globalism mixed in as well. Taken separately or all together, Marxists do not believe in the allowing the “masses” to make their own decisions (kind of sounds like some political figures I’ve heard of recently….but I digress).
Globalism – The “one world government” types. We are a sovereign Nation with our own Constitutions; federal and State. The world does not dictate to us, just as we should not dictate to them. We are not “global citizens”, we are Michiganders first, then Americans.
Islamism/Jihadists – This particular religious ideology has no place within the MPA because it foments conversion to itself by force, allowing any non-converts to live only as chattel if monetary “tribute” is paid. Those who consider themselves as taking part in “the struggle” really hate America and everything our Declaration of Independence and Constitution stand for. Don’t take my word for it, check it out for yourself.
Earth & Animal Worshipers – You know, PETA, Earth Liberation Front, Earth First types? The ones who believe it’s ok to attack and kill Americans because a pine tree or an animal is worth more than a human life?
Fascism – The idiots who subscribe to this ideology are kind of like Nazis, but with some differences. Not good ones, either. Fascists are a little tamer than Nazis, but only by degrees. In the end, they are also totalitarian and don’t allow for Life, Liberty or the Pursuit of Happiness, unless of course, they dictate of what they are comprised. Many, many groups fall under this ideology.
Communism – Whether it’s exported from the former Soviet Union, the People’s Republic of China, or Zimbabwe, we want nothing to do with this re-hashing of Karl Marx’s hallucinogenic vision of what and how the world should operate. As an aside, it’s always struck me as ironic that the higher the level of “comrade” in the communist system, the more “capitalist” creature comforts that person requires.
Pacifism –Pacifists do nothing other than become a door mat for any aggressor. They believe that nothing is worth defending; nothing is worth dying for (other than their belief in being passive), and they won’t protect themselves or their families. So, we don’t see a lot of them (also ok with us). The MPA doesn’t subscribe to any sort of aggression, and as citizens, we take advantage of all lawful remedies for issues, and we hope to live our lives in peace and freedom. That being said, we train so that should ugly times come to our homes, we can protect and safeguard our families with whatever force we deem necessary. To do less would be an affront to God and our families.
Liberalism – As defined by today’s political climate. True, or “classical liberals” are actually libertarian in construct, which is totally different. Today’s liberals look to the government to solve all issues, to do all thinking, to provide all necessities. This belief is so anti-American when compared to precedent and historical practice that it makes ones head spin trying to understand why someone would actually want to be a liberal. MPA folks are self-sufficient, like to make their own decisions, and don’t need a “nanny”. Further, we believe in capitalism, as espoused by Adam Smith.
Racism – We have a problem with anyone who believes their race is superior to another. No one race has a corner on all the components that make up a perfect human. We all bleed red. We all breathe the same air. Racists, no matter what their background, that come to train are discovered in very short order, usually by their own behavior, and then are shown the door.
Reconquistism – The ideology that sprouted “La Raza”, the Reconquista, MEChA, and the return of “Aztlan” to Mexico, by force or through the violation of US law. These groups like to take advantage of all that our nation has to offer while giving nothing back and wanting to take more, eventually bringing about the break-up of the US as we know it (a recent ad by “Absolut Vodka” demonstrates and panders to this ideology – which is one reason I’ll never buy that product again!)
There are others, to be sure, but this pretty much covers the main ideologies that sprout groups or people that need not apply to the Michigan Patriot Alliance and gives you, the reader, what we do not tolerate.
If this has offended you, maybe you need to do some introspection on what your values really are and why the MPA wouldn’t want to have anything to do with you. We’re pretty simple in that respect: Revere the Constitution and what it stands for; revere the sacrifices made by those who ratified the Constitution, and live by those principles (which basically boil down to “live and let live”) and you are welcome to be with us. If not, and you’re still offended, go soak your head.
See you in the field…..or not.
